Day 1

Pick up in the morning. Leaving Windhoek, on route south to Sossusvlei via scenic Spreetshoogte Pass – one of the most spectacular places of Namibia. Stop-over for lunch in the Solitaire, oasis in the Namib Desert. Arrival at the lodge, rest and dinner.

 

Accommodation: 2 nights at Desert Lodge or similar.

Distance: 350 km on gravel road.

Duration: 5 hours with stop-overs and lunch break.

Meals: dinner.

 

Day 2

Early morning before sunrise, 70 km scenic drive through Sesriem Gate to Sossusvlei – place of the highest dunes of the World, which was recently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list as the ‚Sand Sea’. Option of climbing picturesque Dune 45 to experience beauty and vastness of fascinating orange-colored landscape. After the climb, 5 km off-road 4×4 trail to visit surreal Deadvlei, a place of vast clay pan and dried-up, ancient acacias standing silent in an impressive landscape. Break for lunch. In the afternoon visit at Sesriem Canyon and sunset at Elim Dune.

Distance: around 200 km on tar, gravel and sand roads

 

Day 3

Adventure starts after breakfast, as we travel through the Namib-Naukluft Park to Swakopmund, passing by canyons and fascinating rock formations. Magnificent landscape of the Namib reaches as far as eye can see. Wildlife and grazing antelopes:  oryx and springbuck, mountain zebras, giraffes and World’s biggest birds that don’t fly – ostriches. On route, celebrating crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn (famous geographical line) – time for pictures! On arrival in Walvis Bay visit to lagoon for close encounter with flamingos.


 

Accommodation: 2 nights in Swakopmund at Stay@Swakop Guesthouse or similar.

Distance: 300 km (gravel road).

Duration: 5 hours with stop-overs.

Day 4  

Coastal adventure invites you to the ‚lunar landscape’ for a discovery of the botanic attraction, Welwitschia Mirabilis, called a ‚living fossil’, one of the oldest and most original, living plants on the Earth, remembering the times of Christ.

 

Optional attractions:

  • Quad Bike ride into the dunes of the Namib.
  • Early morning dolphin cruise to the flamingos and fur seal colonies.
  • Swakopmund city tour and visit to the Crystal Gallery and local craft market.

 

Meals: breakfast, dinner.

Distance: 150 km on gravel and tar roads.

 

Day 5 & 6

We bid ‚farewell’ to coastal town of Swakopmund, on our way to Etosha National Park – treasure of Namibia, considered to be one of the most loved parks of Africa!

We are welcomed by wild animals and white sand of the plains, while searching for the king of the savannah –  lion. During the afternoon’s game drive we are admiring variety of magnificent game: antelopes, giraffes, zebras as well as herds of African elephants roaming through the bush.

In the evening, relaxing dinner served in the thrilling atmosphere of the wild. At the waterhole, thirsty animals gather for the drink of water, while you are invited to watch the ever-changing ‚theater of nature’ till late!

We will spend next two days on trails of Etosha, searching for wild animals of the savannah, wonderful opportunity for wildlife photography.

Accommodation: for 2 nights within the park, at one of Halali or similar.

Distance: 300 km (gravel routes).

Duration: 4 hrs.

 

Day 7

After breakfast ‚farewell’ to Etosha, we are traveling south to Windhoek, capital of Namibia. Plenty of time to do last shopping for gifts, souvenirs and curios at the local craft market, and enough time to take the last photos of beautiful Africa.

 

Meals: breakfast.

Distance: around 450 km (tarred roads).

Duration: 5 hrs.

Transport, fuel, accommodation and reservations (or tents/camping equipment), meals as per itinerary, national park entrance fee, full day game drives, tour guide for the entire tour, transfer ‚to and from’ the airport, pick-up in Windhoek and transfer to the lodge/hotel after the tour.

Not included in the tour’s price:

Scheduled, international flights ‚to and from’ Namibia, individually extended accommodation, additional transfers, sleeping bags on camping tours, individual travel insurance, water, drinks and alcoholic beverages, optional activities, gratuities and tips, trip extensions, visa to Namibia (if required).
