16 Day Namibia South and North adventure tour takes you to Namibia's major attractions: Kalahari Desert, Diamond Coast with Kolmanskop 'Ghost Town' abandoned in desert sands, Namib-Naukluft Park in the Namib Desert, Skeleton Coast, encounter with Himba Tribe, Epupa Falls with tour ending at two national parks: Etosha and Waterberg for an experience near wildlife and nature. Afternoon visit to the canyon's view spots for a spectacular sunset over the rugged landscape.

Today from Fish River Canyon to Diamond Coast and Ludertiz. On the way visit to desert horses (feral horses of Namibia), which have incredibly adapted to the harsh and arid desert conditions. Admiring these incredible creatures, we are charmed by the vast landscape, unending horizon and beauty of the Namib.
Arrival at Kolmanskop for tour of famous „Ghost Town”, deserted diamond town, around 10 km from Luderitz.
In the afternoon visit to the historical granite cross, known as the Diaz Cross, set in the coastal sands by the Portuguese sailor Bartolomeu Dias who became the first European to sail around the southern tip of Africa (the Cape of Good Hope) in 1488.

Early morning before sunrise, drive towards Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei set in the midst of world’s oldest desert. Unique chance for a spectacular landscape photography! Climbing scenic Dune 45, while enjoying incredible desert vistas and ever changing scenery of the Namib. Afterwards off-road, deep sand drive and morning desert walk takes you to Dead Vlei where ancient, dried-up acacias stand motionless in the orange dunes creating a surreal landscape. You are welcome to climg the ‚Big Daddy’ dune towering some 380m over Deadvlei and afterwards visit to Sossusvlei with optional hiking the ‚Big Mama’ dune. After lunch visit to spectacular rock formations of the Sesriem Canyon.

After breakfast, traveling north through the Namib Desert and Namib-Naukluft Park to a town-oasis Swakopmund, located on the Atlantic shore. En route, crossing Gaub and Kuiseb Passes, observing various geological formations while traveling through vast wilderness regions, spotting ostriches, springboks, mountain zebras and antelopes oryx grazing in their natural habitat. Time for leg-stretching and photo moment at the iconic Tropic of Capricorn sign, while crossing over into subtropical region. On arrival at the coast, lunch and short visit to Walvis Bay lagoon, a coastal wetland of international importance to observe marine birds, such as flocks of Greater and Lesser Flamingos and pelicans. Possible sightings also include over 150 species of birds that have been recorded in this region (e.g. Chestnut-banded Plover, African Oystercatcher, Cape Teal or Black-necked Grebe).
Arrival in Swakopmund, time for rest or leisurely walk around picturesque town, known for its well-maintained 19th-century German buildings; Founded in 1892 as a German colonial harbor. Currently, a popular tourist destination and adventure/holiday resort with a cool, often misty climate, located directly between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert.

Today is filled with attractive optional, coastal activities you are welcome to select from proposed list below or simply enjoy discovering Swakopmund. In the morning, relaxing walk and guided tour through picturesque town. Visit to the local ‚open-air’ curio market, admiring and shopping for an attractive and colorful, African artifacts, curios and souvenirs. After lunch, escapade to spectacular Moon Valley and Welwitschia Mirabilis trails – icon desert plant and botanical attraction; one of the oldest known plants on Earth, called by the botanists the ‚living fossil’.

Salt road along the Atlantic Coast takes us further north. On the way, visit to world's largest Cape fur seal colony combined with short stop-over at the historical Cape Cross, where in 1486, Portuguese sailor Diogo Cão set up a stone cross as a tribute to the King of Portugal, after landing at the Namibian coast. Turning east, inland – we are en route to the mountainous Brandberg Massif with the highest Namibian peak, Königstein, towering 2574m above sea level.

Early in the morning, en route to visit Twyfelfontein Bushmen rock engravings (Afrikaans: uncertain spring) officially known as ǀUi-ǁAis (Nama/Damara: jumping waterhole) – acclaimed UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of Africa's largest concentrations of prehistoric rock engravings (petroglyphs) featuring over 2500 rock engravings created by ancient Bushmen, found in the rusty rocks and mountains. Engravings depict animals, hunters and hunting, people and their lifestyle. The site eloquently illustrates the links between the ritual and economic practices of hunter-gatherers and is considered a deeply sacred space where San hunter-gatherers and later Khoikhoi herders performed their rituals. Famous engravings include the "Lion Man" (depicting a shamanic transformation) and the "Dancing Kudu".

After breakfast, venturing north into Kaokoland to Opuwo, capital of this northern region, to meet semi-nomadic Himba tribe, one of the last, pastoral tribes on Earth, who continue to keep traditional, ancient way of life - as they did for hundreds of years. Unique moment to interact with Himba people, learn about their way of life, customs, traditions - which creates wonderful opportunity for ethnic photography!

In the morning, unforgettable visit to an authentic Himba village, learning about their semi-nomadic way of life. Unique opportunity to observe unique culture and customs. The Himba are a tribe of semi-nomadic pastoralis, who inhabit the Kaokoland, in northern Namibia. They have clung to their ancient traditions. Himba women are noted for their orange-colored skin, intricate hairstyles and traditional jewelry. Himba men and women wear few clothes, apart from a loin cloth or goat-skin mini-skirt, they rub their bodies with mixture of red ochre and animal fat to protect themselves against sun, insects and to condition their skin. It gives Himba’s skin characteristic rich, red color. Himba jewelry is made from iron, animal skin or shell, and due to the intricate designs, have become very popular among the visiting tourists. Visit at the Himba village creates superb opportunity for spectacular ethnic photography!
After visit to the village journey takes you further north in direction of Kunene River to admire Epupa Falls. Kunene creates natural border between Namibia and Angola.
On arrival at Epupa Falls, visit to the falls and at sunset climbing Kapika Hill to admire the falls in spectacular light.

Etosha National Park established in 1907 is the second largest game reserve in Namibia, dedicated to protect wildlife of African bush and savannah. Its beauty and natural charm simply overwhelms the visitor! Wild animals inhabit and freely roam enormous 22,270 km2 regions of grassy savannah and woodland. Harmony and balance of nature fills the viewer with tranquil peace and serenity. Live ‚theater of nature’ at its best!

On safari trails of Etosha, unlimited game drive from sunrise until sunset. We are tracking wildlife in its own natural habitat, observing herds of elephants, zebras, hyenas, variety of the antelopes: kudu, oryx, impalas, eland, springbok, gnu, giraffes, rhino, jackals and birds of prey. Searching for big cats of Etosha: cheetah and leopard, and for ‚king of the Savannah’ – the lion.
At the waterholes, in calm and stillness, we are observing wild animals coming for a drink of water after a hot day. Evenings spent at the waterhole, watching and admiring rich variety of wildlife. Till late at night, we are captivated by incredible nature show! Fantastic opportunity for unforgettable photographic moments!
